JK Homegrown Buying Farm-Fresh Eggs Policy

Last updated: September 1, 2026

Scope

This policy applies to all eggs sold by JK Homegrown for eating, regardless of species. Table eggs may include chicken, duck, quail, or other eating eggs according to current availability.

Table eggs are pickup-only and are not shipped.

Hatching eggs are governed by a separate policy. Eggs sold as table eggs are intended for eating and are not represented or sold as hatching eggs. No representation regarding fertility is made for table eggs.

Availability

Egg availability depends on current flock production. Supply may change because of season, weather, molt, age, breeding activity, and other normal flock conditions. Particular egg types, quantities, colors, or species may not be available every week.

JK Homegrown may announce current availability through the farm stand, direct messages, the JK Homegrown website, or social media. An availability post does not guarantee that eggs will remain in stock.

Ways to Buy Table Eggs

Table eggs may be purchased through three routes:

  1. Farmstand Friday. The farm stand receives its regular full stocking on Friday morning. Available, unreserved items are sold first-come, first-served while supplies last.

  2. Direct-message reservation. Regular customers and other approved buyers may arrange table-egg pickup directly with JK Homegrown.

  3. Website pickup order. Table eggs may be listed on the JK Homegrown website for local pickup. Website listings do not include shipping.

Hatching eggs and live poultry are not stocked as ordinary farm-stand inventory and must be arranged separately.

Farmstand Friday

The JK Homegrown farm stand is self-service. It is stocked in the morning on Farmstand Friday, and unreserved items are available first-come, first-served.

Stock naturally varies. A regular full-stock day means JK Homegrown places the available farm-stand inventory out for sale. It does not guarantee that every product or egg type will be available or that inventory will last throughout the day.

Some items in the stand may already be reserved. Reserved items will be clearly tagged with the buyer's name and are not available for purchase by another customer.

Reservations and Prepayment

A reservation is confirmed only after JK Homegrown directly confirms it. Depending on the individual arrangement, payment may be accepted at pickup or required in advance.

First-time customers may be required to prepay before reserved eggs are placed in the farm stand.

Reserved table eggs may be placed in the stand for pickup on any agreed day of the week. The buyer is responsible for collecting the order on the agreed pickup day.

Missed and Rescheduled Pickup

If a customer contacts JK Homegrown about a delay, pickup may be rescheduled. JK Homegrown is willing to provide reasonable grace when a customer communicates.

If reserved eggs are not collected on the agreed day and the customer does not communicate, JK Homegrown may release the eggs for sale to the next customer.

For an ordinary missed prepaid pickup, the payment may be carried forward to replacement eggs at a rescheduled pickup. The customer may choose farm credit instead.

Repeated missed pickups or failures to communicate may make a prepayment nonrefundable. JK Homegrown may also require prepayment for future reservations from a customer with repeated pickup problems.

Payment

JK Homegrown accepts:

  • Cash

  • Cash App

  • Venmo

  • Payment through the JK Homegrown website

Payment must be completed before leaving with the eggs. Customers paying cash should bring the correct amount because change may not always be available.

Pricing

Current table-egg prices are displayed on the label attached to each dozen and may also be posted on the JK Homegrown Facebook page.

Prices may change over time, including from year to year, as market values change. JK Homegrown generally prices table eggs at or below comparable current market value.

Pickup Location and Property Access

Pickup is near Blanchard, Oklahoma. The exact address and any necessary pickup instructions are provided directly after an order or reservation is confirmed rather than published in this policy.

Customers must remain in the designated farm-stand and parking area. No visitor may enter through the gate or reach through or over the fencing.

Livestock guardian dogs are actively working on the property. A dog behaving in a somewhat friendly manner should not be treated as permission to approach, touch, feed, call, or otherwise interact with the dog. Working guardians may interpret a visitor's behavior as a threat.

Warning signs are posted at the gate and must be followed. A visitor who disregards the posted restrictions assumes responsibility, to the fullest extent permitted by law, for injuries resulting from that conduct. Violating the access rules may also result in refusal of service.

Egg Cartons and Carton Returns

Eggs are sold by the carton.

JK Homegrown accepts only returned egg cartons that were originally issued by JK Homegrown. Returned JK Homegrown cartons must be clean, dry, intact, able to close securely, and free from heavy soiling, moisture, odors, or damage.

A qualifying returned JK Homegrown carton earns credit based on its capacity, calculated at $0.50 per dozen eggs of capacity. The carton credit is applied to the customer's current egg purchase.

Cartons from stores, other farms, or any source other than JK Homegrown are not accepted and do not qualify for the credit. JK Homegrown cartons that do not meet the reusable-condition requirements also do not qualify.

Washing and Carton Labeling

Chicken eggs are normally sold unwashed. Individual chicken eggs may be washed when needed because of dirt. Duck eggs are washed.

Each dozen is labeled with the applicable egg and handling information. Customers should follow the information provided on the carton.

Refrigeration and Safe Handling

All table eggs are kept in a temperature-monitored cooler at the farm stand.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration recommends storing eggs promptly in a clean refrigerator at 40°F or below and keeping them in their original carton.

Raw eggs should be handled as a perishable food. Customers should wash their hands, utensils, and work surfaces after contact with raw eggs and cook eggs and egg-containing foods thoroughly.

Cracked or Unusable Eggs

A cracked or otherwise unusable egg must be reported to JK Homegrown within 24 hours of pickup.

The customer must provide a clear photograph showing the affected egg and the carton. When a timely claim is approved, JK Homegrown will offer replacement eggs when available or farm credit.
