Photography Booking and Service Terms

Last updated: September 30, 2026

These terms apply to all photography services provided by Kellie Hastings through JK Homegrown. If photography services are later offered under a separate business or photography name, these terms will continue to apply unless different written terms are provided.

Booking and Reservation

Submitting an inquiry does not reserve a session date.

A session is officially reserved only after JK Homegrown has received both:

  • The required booking deposit

  • All required signed paperwork

If either the deposit or signed paperwork is missing, the request remains an inquiry. No session date or time will be held.

The Name Your Budget Mini requires a $50 booking deposit. For other photography services, the required deposit will be stated in the service listing, quote, or booking agreement. Unless otherwise stated in writing, standard photography services require a deposit equal to 50% of the session price.

The remaining session balance is due seven calendar days before the scheduled session.

If the remaining balance has not been received, JK Homegrown will attempt to contact the client three days before the session. If the client does not respond or submit payment within 24 hours of that contact attempt, the session will be canceled. The client will be treated as a no-call, no-show for nonpayment, and the full deposit will be retained.

Client Cancellations

If the client cancels at least seven calendar days before the session, the client may choose either:

  • A full refund of the booking deposit

  • Transfer of the deposit to an eligible rescheduled session

If the client cancels less than seven calendar days but at least 72 hours before the session, 50% of the booking deposit will be refunded. Any session balance paid beyond the deposit will also be refunded.

Instead of canceling, the client may request an eligible reschedule and leave the deposit on file.

If the client cancels less than 72 hours before the scheduled session, the entire booking deposit will be retained. Any session balance paid beyond the deposit will be refunded unless the client is considered a no-call, no-show.

Rescheduling by the Client

A booking deposit may be transferred to one rescheduled session when the client provides notice before the applicable cancellation cutoff.

A second reschedule may be approved when the client provides at least 14 calendar days’ notice.

A deposit will not be credited toward a third reschedule. A third booking requires a new deposit.

Weather-related and photographer-initiated rescheduling will not count against the client’s allowed reschedules.

Weather and Photographer-Initiated Rescheduling

If weather makes the session impractical or unsafe, the session will be rescheduled without penalty to the client.

If Kellie Hastings must reschedule because of illness, an emergency, or another photographer-side issue, the session will be rescheduled without penalty. A discount will be applied to the rescheduled session according to the amount of notice provided:

  • Seven or more days’ notice: no discount

  • Three to six days’ notice: 10% discount

  • One to two days’ notice: 15% discount

  • Same-day notice: 25% discount

Travel

Local travel within 25 road miles of the JK Homegrown farm in Blanchard, Oklahoma, is included in the session price.

For locations outside the local service area, a separate travel fee will be charged so the photography session itself can remain consistently priced regardless of the client’s location.

General travel estimates are:

  • Up to 25 road miles: included

  • 26 to 50 road miles: approximately $10 to $50

  • 51 to 100 road miles: approximately $50 to $150

  • More than 100 road miles: custom quote

Long-distance travel may also include tolls, parking, lodging, or other necessary travel expenses.

JK Homegrown is available for photography services throughout Oklahoma and is open to traveling into neighboring states. Distance does not automatically mean a session will be declined. Out-of-state, long-distance, and overnight projects will be quoted individually based on the location, session, and travel requirements.

The total travel charge will be provided and agreed upon before booking.

Travel charges must be paid in full before travel begins. Travel charges become nonrefundable once the photographer leaves the property to travel to the session.

Late Arrivals

Clients receive a 20-minute grace period.

When a client arrives no more than 20 minutes late, the session will be extended so the client receives the scheduled amount of photography time.

When a client arrives more than 20 minutes late, the session will end at the originally scheduled time. The session price will not be reduced.

The client will receive the finished photographs that can reasonably be produced during the remaining session time. The number and variety of finished images may be limited because of the reduced photography time.

No-Call, No-Shows

A client who fails to appear without contacting JK Homegrown is considered a no-call, no-show.

A client who fails to respond after JK Homegrown contacts them regarding an overdue session balance may also be considered a no-call, no-show for nonpayment.

For a nonresponsive cancellation before the session, the full booking deposit will be retained.

If the client fails to appear for the scheduled session without prior notice, the full session fee will be retained. No refund, credit, or transfer will be provided.

Payment Disputes and Chargebacks

A payment dispute or chargeback does not replace the cancellation, refund, or dispute procedures contained in these terms.

If a payment is disputed before the finished gallery is delivered, delivery will be suspended until the dispute is resolved and all amounts properly owed are paid.

If a payment is reversed after photography services or finished images have been provided, the client’s permission to use the images will be suspended until the account is paid in full.

The client remains responsible for:

  • The unpaid session balance

  • Actual chargeback or payment-processor fees

  • Reasonable collection costs

  • Court costs

  • Other documented losses recoverable under applicable law

JK Homegrown may contest a payment dispute using the signed agreement, invoices, payment records, correspondence, delivery records, and other available documentation.

JK Homegrown reserves the right to pursue collections, civil recovery, a money judgment, and any lawful post-judgment remedies.

Suspected fraudulent activity may be reported to the appropriate payment provider or law-enforcement agency. Clients who file fraudulent or bad-faith payment disputes may be permanently refused future services.

Image Selection, Editing, and Delivery

Kellie Hastings will select and deliver the strongest finished images from the session.

Image selection and editing remain within the photographer’s professional and artistic discretion.

The delivery method, estimated delivery period, and delivery window will be stated in the client’s individual booking agreement.

Any number of images listed in a service description is an estimate unless the individual booking agreement expressly guarantees a specific minimum.

Unedited images and RAW files will never be provided.

Copyright and Client Usage Rights

Kellie Hastings retains the copyright to all photographs created during the session. Payment for photography services does not transfer copyright ownership.

The client receives only the usage rights stated in the selected service or individual booking agreement.

Ordinary paid sessions include:

  • Personal printing rights

  • Permission to share the delivered images on the client’s personal social-media accounts

Photo credit is appreciated but is not required.

Commercial use is permitted only when it is expressly included in the purchased service or granted through a separate written commercial-use license.

The Full Farm Branding Collection includes commercial-use rights for the client’s own business marketing, including:

  • The client’s business website

  • Business social-media accounts

  • Advertisements

  • Business cards

  • Printed marketing materials

Personal-use rights do not permit the client to sell, sublicense, transfer, publish, or provide the photographs to another business, publication, breeder, sponsor, sales platform, or other third party for commercial use.

Calendars, resale products, paid publications, third-party advertising, image resale, and other revenue-producing uses require a separate written commercial-use or resale agreement.

If an image is delivered with a watermark, removing, cropping out, covering, or concealing that watermark is prohibited.

Substantially editing or altering the finished photographs in a way that misrepresents or damages the finished work is prohibited.

Unauthorized use may result in suspension or termination of the client’s image license and pursuit of available remedies under contract and copyright law.

Refunds After the Session

Once the photography session has been completed, payments are not ordinarily refundable.

If the client requests cancellation of the remaining photography work before editing has begun, JK Homegrown may discuss a partial refund at its discretion.

Any partial refund will not exceed 50% of the session fee because preparation, travel, and photography services have already been performed.

If a partial refund is approved:

  • JK Homegrown will have no further obligation to edit or deliver images from that session

  • The client will receive no image-use license

  • The client may not use screenshots, previews, proofs, or other images from the session

If equipment failure, file loss, or another photographer-side problem prevents delivery, JK Homegrown will first offer a reshoot.

If the client declines the reshoot, or a reshoot cannot reasonably be completed, the client will receive a refund.

Animal Cooperation, Welfare, and Safety

Clients may request particular poses, arrangements, or images. JK Homegrown will make reasonable efforts to achieve the requested photographs.

Specific poses, expressions, behavior, or animal cooperation cannot be guaranteed because animals are living subjects.

A session may be paused or stopped if an animal:

  • Becomes overly stressed

  • Shows signs of heat stress

  • Becomes dangerous

  • Cannot be handled safely

  • Cannot be safely restrained

  • Is otherwise unable to continue the session safely

If a session ends early because of the client’s animal, the full session fee remains due and is not refundable.

JK Homegrown may offer a partial reshoot on another date when appropriate, but a reshoot is not guaranteed.

The client is responsible for providing:

  • Adequate handlers

  • Safe and appropriate restraint

  • Lawful and safe property access

  • Advance disclosure of dangerous animals

  • Advance disclosure of unsafe property conditions

  • Advance disclosure of access limitations

  • Any other information that may affect the safety or completion of the session

Portfolio and Promotional Release

A separate portfolio release will be included with the client’s session paperwork.

The client must sign and date the release and select one of the following options:

  • Opt in and grant permission for portfolio and promotional use

  • Opt out and refuse permission for portfolio and promotional use

Granting portfolio permission is optional. Declining portfolio use will not cancel the session or reduce the services purchased.

When permission is granted, JK Homegrown may use approved session images in its portfolio, website, social media, advertising, competitions, publications, and other promotional materials, subject to the signed release.

Kellie Hastings will not publish photographs containing a recognizable child, regardless of whether the client grants general portfolio permission.

The client’s own use of lawfully delivered photographs containing their children remains the client’s decision and responsibility.

Barter and Trade

JK Homegrown may accept partial barter or trade for up to 50% of a photography session when both parties agree in writing on:

  • The item or service being traded

  • The agreed monetary value of the barter

  • The deadline for delivery

  • Any other conditions attached to the trade

The required booking deposit, travel charges, and other direct expenses must be paid in money unless a different arrangement is expressly approved in writing.

The agreed barter item or service must be delivered before the photography session or no later than the scheduled session date.

If the agreed barter is not delivered by the required deadline, its agreed monetary value becomes due before photography services or image delivery proceed.
